Wren Class is a nurturing and engaging learning environment for pupils who are working within the Equals Curriculum. The class supports children with complex learning needs, including those who are non-verbal, and places a strong emphasis on developing communication, independence, engagement and life skills.
Learning is personalised to each child's individual needs, strengths and interests, using a range of practical, sensory and play-based experiences. Pupils are encouraged to explore, communicate and interact with the world around them through meaningful activities that promote confidence, choice-making and social development.
Staff use a range of communication approaches, including visual supports, objects of reference, Makaton and assistive communication systems, to ensure every child has a voice and can participate fully in school life. Wren Class provides a safe, supportive and stimulating environment where every achievement is celebrated and pupils are encouraged to reach their full potential.
