We are incredibly proud that our school has achieved the prestigious Eco-Schools Green Flag Award with Distinction, recognising our commitment to environmental sustainability and our dedication to empowering pupils to make a positive difference to the world around them.

The Eco-Schools programme is an internationally recognised award that places sustainability at the heart of school life. Through a structured framework, schools develop environmentally responsible practices while encouraging children to become active citizens who care for their school, local community, and the wider world.

Achieving the Green Flag with Distinction reflects the hard work, enthusiasm, and commitment shown by our pupils, staff, families, and governors. Throughout our Eco-Schools journey, pupils have taken an active role in leading environmental projects, promoting sustainable practices, and helping to make our school a greener place. Their involvement has enabled them to develop valuable life skills including teamwork, communication, leadership, problem-solving, and responsibility.

For our pupils, particularly within our SEND setting, the programme has provided meaningful, hands-on learning opportunities that allow every child to contribute in ways that suit their strengths and needs. Activities such as recycling initiatives, biodiversity projects, energy-saving campaigns, and caring for outdoor spaces have helped pupils understand that their actions can have a positive impact on the environment.

The award also reflects our wider commitment to preparing pupils for the future. Through participation in Eco-Schools, children develop important knowledge and skills linked to sustainability, environmental awareness, and global citizenship, helping them to become confident and responsible members of society.

We are delighted that our efforts have been recognised with a Green Flag Award with Distinction and remain committed to building on this success by continuing to promote environmental responsibility and sustainable practices across all aspects of school life.
