Dear members of our immediate and wider school community, 

It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic news of the death of one of our pupils, Prudence Brabin (Pru), following a house fire, on 22 September 2026.

Pru was a much-loved member of the Acre View family, and her loss has been deeply felt by pupils, staff and the wider school community.

Since receiving this devastating news, our thoughts and heartfelt condolences have remained with Pru's family, friends and everyone who knew and loved her.

Our pupils and staff have shown remarkable strength and kindness during this incredibly difficult time. We are immensely proud of the way our school community has come together to support one another. While this has been a deeply emotional period for everyone, pupils have responded with compassion and care, and staff have worked tirelessly to provide comfort, stability and reassurance.

As a school, we have put in place support for our families, staff and pupils, and we continue to evolve this. 

We remember how Pru brought joy to everyone around her with her bright personality, incredible imagination and remarkable memory. Her enthusiasm for life shone through in everything she did, especially when dancing and taking part in creative craft activities, which she enjoyed immensely.

Known for her friendly nature and warm smile, Pru made a positive impact on all those who had the privilege of knowing her. She valued her family greatly and often spoke about them with love and pride.

Pru was cherished by both pupils and staff, who will remember her kindness, happiness and the special light she brought to our school every day. She will always be a valued member of the Acre View community.

We thank everybody who has shared messages of support. We will continue to work closely with pupils and staff during this challenging time, and our thoughts remain with Pru's family and everyone who knew and loved her.
