It is organised into small, progressive learning steps, enabling pupils to build confidence, develop independence and celebrate success at every stage of their learning journey.
Our Equals' pathway focusses on developing the knowledge, skills and understanding that pupils need for both learning and everyday life. Learning is personalised to meet each child's individual communication, sensory, cognitive and emotional needs, ensuring that all pupils can access meaningful and engaging experiences. Functional skills, independence, communication, personal development and preparation for life are embedded throughout the curriculum.

Learning is practical, engaging and relevant, helping pupils to apply their skills in real-life contexts and become increasingly independent learners.
Staff carefully adapt teaching and use ongoing assessment to monitor progress, recognising and celebrating the small but significant steps that pupils make. Through the Equals Curriculum, we ensure that every child experiences success, develops confidence, and is prepared for the next stage of their education and life.
